Starr Center—Explore America!
Washington College’s Starr Center explores the American experience in all its diversity and complexity, seeks creative approaches to illuminating the past, and inspires thoughtful conversation informed by history. We offer college students dynamic opportunities for hands-on learning and off-campus experiences unequaled at other small liberal arts schools. Also, through the "Explore America!" program we offer fully funded internships that will take you all over the country.
Rose O'Neill Literary House
The Rose O'Neil Literary House offers literary programming across disciplines, spaces to study and to hold class, professional mentorship and guidance for students, and training in new and antique printing technologies. Our job is to help students grow as artists and to envision the lives they can have as writers, editors, and publishers, once they graduate from Washington College.
Center for Environment & Society
The Center for Environment & Society promotes interdisciplinary learning, research and exemplary stewardship of natural and cultural resources. It's primary objective is to support the integration of ecological and social values. The Center is home to the Chester River Watershed Observatory, Geographic Information Systems, Chester River Field Research Station, and the Public Archaeology Laboratory. CES also hosts the Chesapeake Semester and Rural Energy Project and manages Washington College's River and Field Campus.
