An integral part of the campus community, Washington College welcomes students from all over the world. Washington College currently has 29 international partner institutions in 22 countries. Students have the option to study for one or two semesters. Students from select institutions can also apply as language assistants in the Department of World Languages & Cultures.

The Global Education Office staff are dedicated to providing students with an enriching experience studying at Washington College and abroad.
GEO serves as the focal point for international experiences and intercultural learning at Washington College. GEO coordinates international opportunities for Washington College students to participate in overseas academic and experiential learning-based programs, and provides on-going support and guidance to international students studying at Washington College.
Campus life is enriched by the events that students promote in support of their academic, social, and service organizations. Students are permitted to use campus facilities under supervision by the Office of Student Engagement.
Past and present international students demonstrate that their experiences, both academic and social, have prepared them for rich, fulfilling lives after they finish their studies at Washington College.
The Global Education Office offers a full range of services for both international exchange students and international matriculated students. The guidance we provide our students begins from their initial period of application throughout their stay at Washington College.
Many international students want to work while studying in the United States. It is important that you know both Washington College policy and U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations before looking for employment.
The Washington College International Student Community Mentor Program has been very successful in connecting international students to the local Chestertown community for over 17 years. This program continues today because of committed and caring individuals in our community!

Exchange applications for 2024-2025 are open:
- Summer, Fall, AY 24-25 deadline is February 9, 2024
- Spring 2025 deadline is September 13, 2024
