One of the goals of the Global Education Office (GEO) is to foster an intercultural education experience for both current WC students who want to study abroad and incoming international students. Washington College has a broad range of partner institutions all over the world, and all WC students can start studying abroad as early as their second-semester sophomore year!

I chose to study abroad in Seoul because South Korea is extra special to me. I am a South Korean adoptee and came to the States when I was 3 months old. I never knew much about my culture, growing up in areas where the Asian population was less than 2% did not allow me to learn or experience my culture very much.
Like most students, the idea of studying abroad was something I found intriguing. I was always asking about opportunities on my college tours or info sessions. Back then I was constantly switching my “top choice” of destination: Japan, Australia, Denmark, and Germany all had the top slot at some point.
Rachel chose to study abroad at Bond because she wanted to push herself out of her comfort zone and felt a strong pull to Australia. Having not traveled far from home alone, let alone across the world, she thought Bond would be the perfect place to challenge herself.
